Adventure Camp

Is it possible for your marketing
to be
as amazing as you are?

So all your favorite people feel right at home?

When you’re really good at what you do, marketing seems like something for more adventurous people.
People who require less quiet time. The kinds of people who wear waterproof headsets while white-water rafting.

Why go on a big, crazy marketing expedition when comfort seems to give you what you need?

A few wee problems you might face:

  • Your website is lovely, but it’s not converting.
  • You’re wondering whether there’s a better way to package your services so your favorite clients get more value—without you spending more time.
  • You’re unsure how to communicate what makes you special—without sounding like everyone else.
  • You’re overwhelmed with possibilities. Which tactics are right for your business, right now? And how often? And in what order? You can’t reinvent the wheel every time you read new advice.

You don’t need to lose yourself to grow your business.

Maybe what you need is an all-weather tent. And a campfire so your people can easily find you.

Introducing Marketing Adventure Camp.

Marketing Adventure Camp is a one-on-one program that helps independent consultants and creatives develop high-value programs that incorporate more of the skills and resources they already have.

Your program is big enough to hold your favorite people and it’s portable enough to go anywhere—in your backyard or on a long, backcountry expedition. Your program can be as long or as short as you need it to be. It lets you rest into your business—even if you’re going somewhere you’ve never been before.

And, it comes with a guarantee!

$47,000. That’s the amount in marketing opportunities I guarantee we’ll find in the first week. We’ll create one or more customized programs, we’ll design a step-by-step lead-generation system to attract prospects and turn them into clients, and then we’ll write a persuasive, friendly sales page for the highest-priority program.

As you know, growing a business isn’t just about having the right copy. (Although–like apples–fresh, crisp copy is always nice to have.) Sustainable growth is about knowing you’re moving in the right direction because your strategy is sound. You’re promoting high-value programs and packages—not isolated services. And you’re using the right messages that persuade the people you’ll love working with most. You will receive:

  • A customized program or package designed to reflect the qualities you’ve always wanted your business to have—so you attract more business—with less effort.
  • A sales page that converts in a magical, non-slimy, prospect-attracting way.
  • A step-by-step lead generation system that your skeptical self can’t immediately shoot down. The kind of strategy that doesn’t zip you into a marketing straitjacket. One that’s flexible enough to be interesting.

The ultimate outcome? More of your favorite clients, naturally. You become irresistible by marketing in a way that reflects who you are and makes customers fall in love.

You are here:

1. You’re an established independent consultant who wants to step outside your backyard—without having to do anything weird. Here are some examples of folks I work with:

  • Graphic designers and illustrators
  • Communication consultants
  • Marketing consultants
  • IT consultants
  • Financial and high tech consultants
  • Sustainability and clean tech consultants
  • Healthcare consultants

2. You’re already good at what you do. It’s the “getting yourself out there” part that makes you squirm. You just need a strategic, friendly marketing ranger to take you where you want to go.

3. You’re growth-oriented. Backcountry camping suits you. You’re willing to hike and then adjust course as you go. You also happen to be pretty amazing at what you do, with a do-good service for businesses or the nice people who run them.

Your destination?

Here are just a few of the great places you’ll go when we collaborate:

  • You immediately stand out with a specific, compelling offer people actually want to respond to, written in a voice that feels like you, with messaging your prospects find persuasive.
  • Fresh and approachable, you don’t sound anything like competitors. Prospects find themselves magically drawn to you. And then they convert. Your copy incorporates your voice and your marketing sounds like you—but better.
  • You have fun and feel supported by someone who shares your values. You don’t have to worry you’ll be pushed into anything slimy, icky, or otherwise just not right.

How it works

Marketing—like a backcountry expedition—is only as successful as your ability to balance who you are and where you want to go with what is already all around you.

It’s not just your website copy, your design, your proposals, your emails, or your conversations.

It’s about the ecology of that system, and about the experience you and your clients have when you work together. What I do is work with you to bring the qualities you want your business to have into a specific program. We won’t reinvent your entire business. But we’ll design a package that helps you attract your people in a sustainable, feel-good kind of way.

Here is the itinerary:

After you complete my assessment, we take off on a 5-day Discovery Hike.

Each day, we hike for 2 hours.

Okay, we don’t literally hike. But we meet in person or by videoconference to explore possibilities.

It’s the next-best thing.

Day 1

  • Ecology.
    • We learn the land by exploring the qualities you want your business to have. We look at what’s around you and talk about what you’d like to see more of—and less of. Then, we brainstorm offers and programs.

Day 2

  • Tripping.

    • Our goal is to identify one or more offers or programs that can deliver at least $47,000 to your business—guaranteed. We want you to attract more clients in a way that’s sustainable.

Day 3

  • Rest.
    • We break from brainstorming and let the ideas sink in. You can just swing in your hammock and stare at the clouds. Or work–you know, because that’s what you like to do.

Day 4

  • Logistics.
    • We narrow down which programs you’ll implement and we develop a pricing structure and a marketing timeline. If one program isn’t enough to reach your goals, we might add more. You don’t need a large program to be successful. Sometimes smaller is better, and you can offer higher value and more intimacy to each client.

Day 5

  • Campfires.
    • We plan out one or more Marketing Campfires so you can make it easy for your people to find you. We determine the highest-priority projects or strategies—like speaking, web marketing, direct outreach, and social media. You know exactly what to do next. Then, I create a sequence of projects and prioritized steps, so you’re not trailblazing just for the fun of it.

Days 6 – 26

  • Provisions.
    • I collaborate with you to create a tasty sales page for your program designed to generate leads based on what messages are most persuasive for your audience. Because I have a knack for figuring out which messages people really care about, collaborating with me tends to uncover insights you’d never get on your own.

Days 30 – 200

  • Backcountry Exploring.
    • Now that we’ve pitched your tent somewhere scenic, it’s time for the fun stuff. If you need premium copywriting for things like lead-generation emails and additional web pages, you get priority access to me and my collaborative Copy Rangers on a flat-fee, project basis. We’re ready and willing to assist.

Promises are enticing, but what about the results?

My $47,000 Guarantee

The Marketing Adventure Camp comes with the following guarantee:

During the first week, we’ll identify at least $47,000 worth of tangible, real-world marketing opportunities for your business based on one or more programs. Fresh apples for your hike!
