Hah! One hit! And it's not me ('cause I used a graphic) :-) (Googled "from details to results") Seriously, you've caused me to rethink many ideas about Personal Branding. Thank you

Nice post Kelly, but I would like to present a little bit of caution in this approach.

Having keywords that don't have a lot of competition is great, however, you also have to make sure they are being searched on. There are a loads of tools provided by Google to help determine search volume.

If your keywords have less than 10,000 searches a month, then probably best to avoid those keywords.

Sometimes it may be better to still target the "main" keywords everyone is using, then target associative keywords to differentiate. Google appears to be getting smarter with this, so if you can write copy that uses synonyms and is still human readable, you could get on the first or second page of results.

The second page should never be underestimated in search results, people do visit it. And this is where making your title, opening paragraph or meta tag description really stand out comes in, because that's what the searcher will see.

Ha! I hadn't considered that fear-of-knowing element. I guess if you don't FEEL like you're burning, maybe it's best NOT to initiate potentially scary safety procedures.
